Alkemi Clean is an independent, eco-friendly cleaning company based in North Carolina. Our story began with a social worker and father who designed a professional cleaning company with a commitment to protecting our precious environment, both inside and outside of our homes and businesses.
The vision for our ecologically responsible cleaning service was born when our founder began volunteering time to “reset” his clients’ homes to greener, healthier environments. He was shocked by the rapid emotional, behavioral, and physical improvements observed in the lives of his clients as a result of his work. So, Alkemi Clean was founded as a personal endeavor to enrich the lives of others via the cultivation of healthy living spaces. Now, with more than 20 years in the business of serving families and communities, we are thrilled to be in Greensboro, NC!

who we are
Tom
has been in the cleaning industry for nearly 15 years, and thrives on both serving people and protecting the environment. Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Tom has been a resident of North Carolina for over 30 years. In 2005, Tom graduated with a BA in the visual arts from Warren Wilson College, a school dedicated to environmentalism and developing a strong work ethic. Years later, he and his wife, Amy, met while cleaning in Asheville and got married in 2017 before coming to Greensboro. Among the things Tom loves about Greensboro are the beautiful parks and greenery, and the vibrant arts culture – two things Greensboro has in common with Asheville. He plans to one day open a non-profit dedicated to reforestation.
Amy
graduated with a BFA from UNCA in 2013 and brings her creative spirit and eye for detail to every cleaning task she encounters. Growing up overseas in Cameroon, Africa, she has an adventurous taste in food and pets. She fell in love with cleaning by making lasting connections with clients and seeing the direct impact her work has in their lives. One of her favorite things to hear is “Oh thank goodness you’re here!” Some of her favorite jobs include young families, cat people, and quirky houses.
